Process
My specialty is colored pencil animal portraits.
How do I develop a portrait that makes your beloved pet look so incredible and lifelike? My experience and fine art training has given me the gift to be able to understand how nature develops color. Did you know that nature does not have a true black? For this reason, I use only rich dark warm browns and cool blues to create the most natural beauty and a unique piece of art. Please enjoy looking at a few of my latest commissions. or contact me for more information.
You will see below some of my artwork, the portrait is on the left and was derived from the photo on the right. If you would like a reference please contact me for that information.
All commissioned pieces of artwork are created with colored pencil on toned acid free paper. Life size commissioned artwork is matted with acid free matte board and framed with a UV protected glass.
Every commissioned piece takes several hours and has multiple layers of colors laid next to another in order to create a realistic piece of fine art. Please contact me for an estimate on time or if you have any questions about commissioning a piece of art.
Through my years of experience and formal training I’ve learned to respect the limitations of my tools, I have found that the smallest piece I can offer to keep the life like quality is 11”x14”.
ENJOY!
