All commissioned pieces of artwork are created with colored pencil on toned acid free paper. Life size commissioned artwork is matted with acid free matte board and framed with a UV protected glass.

A true portrait pose is preferred but I understand that not all of our beloved pets are with us in order to take a perfectly posed photo. See the photo tips on how to perfectly photograph your pet. Just the right amount of the surrounding elements will be included in the portrait to  make the portrait look natural and lifelike.

Every commissioned piece takes several hours and has multiple layers of colors laid next to another in order to create a realistic piece of fine art. Please contact me for an estimate on time or if you have any other questions about commissioning a piece of art.

Through my years of experience and formal training I’ve learned to respect the limitations of my tools, I have found that the smallest piece I can offer to keep the life like quality is 8”x 10”.

I love all animals and truly enjoy giving you a memory to cherish and show off to your friends. There is no animal to small or large, feathered, hairless, with or without tails. .

Photos for Life Size Portraits....

Please take two images of your pet one that will be used for the portrait and a second image that includes a common object held next to or placed on  your pet (like a coin or a ruler) that I can use as a scale to ensure that the image is life size. If the animal wears a collar, you just need to send the width measurement of the collar.
